My perspective on therapy comes from the idea that it can be an effective tool for listening, providing guidance, empathy and relationship building for those that have found themselves at a crossroads in life. I have experience with a vast array of clients, as I began my career in community mental health work. I have a passion for working with clients that are impacted by ineffective patterns in life, who have difficulty navigating change and struggle with depression, anxiety, and self-esteem that stem from these patterns.
My therapy approach utilizes a blend of Motivational interviewing, Schema focused therapy, CBT and DBT. With these practices, the core belief is that the growth and strength of the therapeutic relationship is the mechanism for change.
