Quiet Mind Therapy Services offers in person and virtual group therapy and support sessions in addition to individual therapy sessions. Currently during COVID-19, we are offering online group therapy sessions for $25 per week. We do not accept or bill any insurance companies for our group therapy/support group services.
There are times in the course of your treatment when, depending on the nature of your struggle, you might benefit best from therapy by participating in group sessions rather than alone with one counselor. Sometimes it is helpful to work together, alongside others struggling with the same issue, for additional support and accountability to overcome a particularly challenging behavior pattern in your life.
Online Anxiety Management-Skills and Support: Developing strategies to cope with anxiety and distress is more important than ever as we learn how to navigate fear, worry, and uncertainty. This discussion and skill-based group focuses on providing support and anxiety management strategies. Some of the anxiety management strategies that will be explored include: mindfulness, relaxation techniques, challenging unhelpful thinking (CBT), practicing self-compassion, implementing self-care practices, and an introduction to Exposure Response Prevention. Online Adolescent DBT Group, Ages 13-17: A DBT-informed support group for teens structured within a DBT skills framework allows time for processing, connection and support around stressors such as changes in dynamics at home, being out of school, having to find (and use!) new and creative healthy outlets. While DBT skills are introduced, discussed and reviewed this is not a comprehensive DBT skills group. Next module is Distress Tolerance, and will begin in early Fall 2020. Online Adult DBT Skills Group, Ages 23+: The next module is Distress Tolerance where skills are taught to help clients learn how to tolerate difficult emotions effectively. Mindfulness is implemented throughout. While this group is a practice mainstay and one of our most popular, ages are being altered slightly as we implement the new DBT Skills Group for Young Adults. This group is now forming and will start Thursdays 6:15pm-7:30pm in October 2020.
NEW!! Online DBT Skills Group for Young Adults, Ages 18-23: Designed specifically for this emerging adult population, the first module will be Interpersonal Effectiveness, and will begin in the early Fall on Wednesdays from 4-5pm. Mindfulness is implemented throughout.
Online Healing from Trauma: Focuses on the effects of trauma, and is not a processing group. We teach grounding/empowerment, the neuroscience of trauma, skills for coping with PTSD sx, and foundational EMDR resourcing. We have one group each for men and women.
Managing Depression Support and Skills: This group is support and skill based to help clients manage depression now and moving forward.Using a CBT approach, and pulling from the workbook, Mind over Mood, this group is super successful and helpful! This group will begin on Monday September 28th from 6-7pm. Join us!
Online Understanding Myself and Others: An Interpersonal Process Group: This is a unique opportunity for honest exploration of person and interpersonal process in an emotionally supportive environment. The focus is on relationships in general and is meant to improve self awareness and communication. This group will begin Wednesday’s from 7pm-8pm.
